This may be an isolated experience. I went to the Petal location around 1 October 2017, around 9PM-ish. I ordered a pound of brisket for me, my wife, and my sister-in-law. It must have been left out all day. It had a sorta weird smell, but it didn't exactly make buzzers go off in our heads.
The people here were super friendly and funny. Seth was really helpful and patient since we couldn't figure out what we actually wanted. I had a really bad day and the people here helped make it just a bit easier for me.
The next day I was at work, and my wife tells me her sister is throwing up, so she must be "pregnant". So we we're mad at my sister-in-law, because she likes to fool around with dead-beats that don't know how to find a job, and now she was apparently pregnant by one, and she was living with us. So we we're pretty mad about it, and ready to give her some iron words and kick her out the door.
Great place. Food is excellent.
I like Dickies alot. The Hattiesburg location is my favorite. People say Dickies is overpriced, but they just about have a monopoly on fast-food bbq, so... I give them a pass on that aspect. The price isn't why I'd knock them. So... Let's move on to why I would knock them.
The times I've been at Dickey's BBQ the food was always good and great atmosphere with great customer service and makes you want to go back

Terrible.. Got the chopped brisket it was mush. Got baked potato casserole and it was instant loaded potato soup.. No wonder we was the only people there at noon.. Disgusting!!
But then, I got home from work... and I was "pregnant" too. Throwing up everywhere! Had to call-in the next day. And my wife soon followed. We were all showing signs of pregnancy. And we KNOW without a doubt that it was the brisket. So... That was some bad brisket.
